As part of the promotional campaign for WarReWARds, a commercial is in the works. To successfully make this commercial, we need the help of you, the members.
What we need from you are video testimonials. These are simply accounts of your perspectives of the site. Of course, you will be rewarded greatly if your video is used.
* Keep in mind that the target audience for this video is consumers who have not been previously involved with GPT sites.
PER VIDEO USED
That's right! If your video is featured in the commercial, you will receive 500WR!
Sample includes both the testimonial and the "I'm battle ready" phrase. Read more about it below if you're confused.
We will use around five videos.
Videos should be web-cam format. That means you should record it with a web-cam. If you don't have a web-cam, simply put your video-recorder on or near the computer to emulate the web-cam format.
Note: Don't have a program to record videos from your webcam? After hours of searching, I found the ArcSoft WebCam Companion 3.0 (I used it to record the video sample above.) This download, verified spyware-free and virus-free by CNET, includes a 15-day free trial, which gives you more than enough time to make a video for the contest.
If you are camera shy, you don't have to be the person speaking in the video. If you want, you can just ask some random person to do it. However, the person must be speaking your words. We don't want anyone to make up anything about the site. We just want the clear, honest truth.
There is a potential of your video being used. Don't submit a testimonial to this contest if you don't want to have your visage on a variety of websites. This also goes for if you are having a stand-in; make sure they are informed that the video will be part of a commercial distributed online.
Keep in mind that all of these will be a part of one longer commercial. We don't need a movie. Videos should be 30 seconds at the maximum, and will be shortened if necessary.
There are two parts of the video. First is your testimonial. Secondly, we would like you to end your video by saying "I'm [username], and I'm battle ready." Videos will not be eligible unless they include this phrase. You can use your first name instead of your username if that is preferable to you.
We are aiming to have 5 different categories represented in the video (one video for each category). You can submit videos for any or all of these categories. The more videos you submit, the better chance you have of being chosen.
Categories: 1. How to Complete Offers/Ease of Completing Offers 2. Sense of Community and/or Views of the Staff 3. The site is available for anyone wanting money; don't need to support war or anything; doesn't matter whether you're male, female, teenage, middle-aged, elderly, etc. 4. Special features (Ex. Combat/game) 5. Contests
Entries in each category: 1. 0 2. 1 3. 0 4. 0 5. 0 Updated 03/27/10.
Enter your video by uploading it to a website like http://www.mediafire.com and posting it as a link in this thread. Please also include which category you are submitting the video for.
Deadline for all videos is Sunday, April 4th, 2010.

ANSWERED QUESTIONS
Q: Can multiple people work on the same video? A: Yes, that is fine. However, you'll have to decide how to split the prize. It's 500WR per video, not 500WR per person in the video.
Q: Are you going to use 5 different people for the 5 parts or is it possible for someone to get more than one prize? A: I'd prefer to use 5 different people. I'll only use a person multiple times if we do not get enough entries in each category.
Q: How important is video quality (actual resolution)? A: Video quality is not as important. Varying video qualities will add to the effect of the web-cam format. Therefore, don't freak out if you don't have the highest quality web-cam. We just need to be able to be able to tell what's going on in the video.
Q: Are employees allowed in on this? A: You can enter, but your video will have a lower chance of winning. If a member submits a usable video to the same category as your video, their video will get priority. However, if there are no other videos in that category then your video might be used.

No time or technical know-how for video...but did my best on a written testimonial in the Suggestions/Admin Polls - Testimonials Forum Topic.
Thanks for posting a testimonial! Unfortunately, written testimonials do not count for this contest. However, you could always find another person to film your video. As long as they speak what you have written, the video will be eligible.

Kayley, after you get the winning submissions, you can send me the videos and I'll reencode them to have a better file size. I have a few programs and can locate the optimal resolution to file size ratio.

So I started writing up my next script, and had a question.. Would you prefer if we said 'WarRewards' or 'WarRewards.com' in the videos. I used the former in my first video, but was curious to what you thought.
